I found some other information:

this is how I built the file vmpack6.dsk initially:

echo VM50-6 3350-1 >load.ctl
dasdload -bz2 load.ctl vmpack6.dsk 5

This was after reading different articles on the web, I don't recall the meaning
of the different parameters of dasdload ...
